Join me for a one-day workshop and learn to make a mini Guernsey basket - a petite ponier à cou - at Meadow in Stockbridge, Hampshire.
Meadow is a beautifully designed café, art gallery, and event space with a passion for food, art and creativity.
To make your own mini Guernsey basket, you will start with a pre-made frame and weave with willow. As you weave, you will add in the additional wire and willow ribs. Every step will be demonstrated and explained and I will guide you through the process.
We’ll spend the day basket making in the Gallery Room, pausing for lunch in the café to savour their fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced menu. We’ll also enjoy their teas, coffees and cakes.
All materials and tools will be provided.
Making a ponier à cou involves working with wood, wire and willow, a selection of hand held tools, and strong hands. That said, it is suitable for beginners or those with willow experience.
Venue: Meadow, 9 High St, Stockbridge, Hampshire SO20 6EX
Times: start 9.30 am ends 4.30 pm.
The cost is £130 per person and includes tea/coffee in the morning, lunch from Meadow’s menu, and tea and cake in the afternoon.
Please refer to Terms of Service before booking.
